Arts Council England Strategic Funding Launch

The Arts Council has published details of how it will invest £440 million of strategic funding between 2012 and 2015, including two new programmes for Capital and Touring.Strategic funding will be used to complement the organisation’s £1.04 billion investment in National Portfolio organisations. Cafe looking for artists to run workshops

I am looking for people to run craft/art workshops in my cafe (www.cafesalvation.blogspot.com) on a Thursday and Friday morning. The artists could charge whatever they feel appropriate per person, I would be willing to help promote it and at this stage I wouldn't want any commission/money - I am keen to establish the cafe as a centre for crafts and arts in the community, for grown-ups and adults. Little Boxes are three illustration students from Hereford College of Arts in our third and final year. We currently have an exhibition running at The Hereford Deli on St. Owen Street and we were wondering if we could get some information published about our debut show. Music hubs to drive music education from 2012

On behalf of the Department for Education, Arts Council England is investing more than £171 million of funding between August 2012 and March 2015 in a network of music education hubs across England. ACE will identify hubs through an open application process, which opened 25 November 2011. Music education hubs will ensure that every child aged 5-18 has the opportunity to sing and learn a musical instrument, as well as perform as part of an ensemble or choir. The John Ruskin Prize

The Campaign for Drawing, in collaboration with the Guild of St George, has announced a new art award – the John Ruskin Prize. The prize will be awarded to the best wall mounted artwork on the theme ‘A New Look at Nature’, and is open to anyone over 18 working in painting, drawing, print-making or mixed media and resident or domiciled in the UK.The prize winner will receive £1,000 and a specially commissioned pencil case.
