Old Chapel Gallery
OLD CHAPEL GALLERY, Pembridge, is situated in a key position on the popular black and white tourist trail in the heart of North Herefordshire.
The gallery, with display areas on two floors, was established in 1989 by Yasmin Strube. It has a reputation as a centre of excellence for the arts. The work of local and nationally known artists and makers can be seen alongside that of innovative and talented newcomers. The main criteria is that all our artists and makers are based in the UK.
Comments in the visitors’ book from all over the UK and overseas are testament to the pleasure given by a visit to this unique privately - owned gallery with its professional and friendly service.
On the fine art side, there is an eclectic range of large and small works; framed watercolours, gouaches, oils, pastels, etchings and aquatints. We have an interesting collection of unframed prints and cards including work by established artists such as Mary Ann Rogers, Sue Howells and Tim Nash. 
Exhibitions and showcases are held regularly each year on a rolling programme. Currently there are events most months. Scheduling can be as far ahead as one year but usually there is a far shorter lead in time. Yasmin works with artists and makers taking account of their preferred way of working and particular needs.
Perhaps our best loved feature is our display of Garden Sculpture. Each May we hold a Garden Sculpture Exhibition which showcases unique pieces by talented designer/makers mainly from Herefordshire. The gallery gains from the proximity of Hereford College of Art and the Hereford Blacksmithing Course, which allows us to showcase fine original ironwork.
The gallery shows an enchanting range of jewellery, glass and ceramics. We enjoy the reputation of having successful present ideas and a great range of collectables, alongside unique knitwear and other original and fine quality wearables. Yasmin started in the craft world as a knitter and has always had a special interest to seek out interesting textile designer/makers. 
Meeting new artists and seeing new work is always exciting. Initially Yasmin prefers to be contacted by telephone or email where the maker or artist can give an idea of their inspiration and email some images. If the work is appropriate for the gallery - (Yasmin is always looking for that wow factor !) she would then make an appointment to meet the artist to see the work at first hand. High quality presentation is important. All originals should be professionally mounted and framed.
Preference may be given to those artists/makers who do not sell online as obviously those selling via the internet are already showcasing their work.

The Greenstage Gallery
The GreenStage opened its doors in the summer of 2005, with the aim of providing a show case for contemporary and original artistic talent by local, national and international artists in a comfortable and friendly environment. Throughout the year we have 8 or 9 exhibitions where we promote the work of three artists who would typically display between 8 and 16 pieces each on the exhibition wall. In addition to this we also have a changing display of ‘Gallery’ artists (whose work we represent throughout the year), guest artists, sculpture and jewellery. In order to further promote our Gallery Artists we also exhibit at selected art fairs up and down the country; including the Affordable Art Fair. 
The artists who exhibit in our monthly exhibitions would normally include at least one local artist and at least one whose work has not been exhibited locally. It is important for us and our customers that the paintings exhibited are new, distinctive, original, work together and are of the right quality.
The final selection of artists for the exhibitions generally takes place in the summer of the previous year. This enables us to promote the shows properly and the artists to plan and work towards their particular show.
Through out the year we receive enquiries and applications by 6 or 7 artists a week looking to exhibit their work. We are always on the look out for potential exhibitors and visit many open studios, end of year shows and other galleries. It is very difficult to summarise what we look for, but certainly originality, consistency and quality are very important.
We ask all artists interested in exhibiting to either post or e-mail a selection of photographs of their work, along with a brief history of themselves and any past exhibitions rather than just turning up. We do look at everything that is sent, and if we think that the work is suitable for the GreenStage then we will arrange an appointment to view the work in the Gallery. If an artist sends us a link to their website and updates of where they might be exhibiting in the near future that is also helpful. We do try to reply to all applications, but I 
would advise any artist to follow up their initial enquiry after a fortnight if they have not had a response. Due to the number of applications we generally cannot give feedback on our decisions, but ultimately it comes down to personal choice and what might not be right for the GreenStage may well be just what another gallery is looking for.

Parkfields Gallery
Parkfields Gallery is located at 4 High Street in the picturesque town of Ross-on-Wye. The gallery was originally set up in 1997 at a country location outside Ross by the gallery founder Cheryl Perrett, but early in 2001 Parkfields Gallery moved to its present location and has never looked back. In 2004 Fritha Clutterbuck took over the directorship of the gallery from Cheryl Perrett and the gallery has continued to thrive and develop its reputation as a showcase for contemporary British art and craft, together with friendly professional staff.
Parkfields Gallery exhibits a diverse and extensive range of high 
quality art and contemporary craft by both local and nationally renowned makers. Work on display ranges from paintings, prints, ceramics, glassware and sculpture to jewellery, designer textiles and superb handmade furniture.
The gallery has a changing exhibition programme, with a new, loosely themed exhibition every six to seven weeks. Each exhibition usually features two wall artists, a ceramicist and a jeweller, with other artisans featured as appropriate. The exhibition programme is planned approximately three to six months in advance.
In addition to this the gallery has a constantly changing display of work by “Gallery artists”, i.e. artists whose work is exhibited throughout the year. Fritha likes to support and showcase work by Herefordshire artists whenever possible but also invites artists from further a field to exhibit, to create wider interest. Potential exhibitors are sourced through visiting artist studios, art/ ceramic fairs and graduate shows. Quality of work is most important together with originality, innovation and appropriateness for the gallery’s clientele.
The gallery is always on the lookout for new artists to exhibit: artists interested in exhibiting are advised to post or email a selection of photographs of their work together with information about themselves, details of previous exhibitions, website etc. If the work looks suitable for Parkfields Gallery, an appointment to meet the artist and view the work first hand will then be arranged.
