CALL OUT 2012
h.Art, Hereford’s Open Studios event is soon to open registration for its 11th year. 2011 saw 103 venues open across the county with over 200 participating artists, and achieved over 27,000 visitors. h.Art is designed to serve practising artists, aiming to help find a market for their work, gain feedback, network, and develop professional practice. It is also a high profile event enjoyed by the people of Herefordshire and beyond.
The dates for h.Art Week 2012 are 8th – 16th September 2012. Herefordshire artists/venues considering taking part are invited to the Planning and Networking Meeting on Wednesday 15th February, 6-7.30pm at Gardner Hall, The Royal National College, Venns Lane, Hereford, HR1 1DT. It is advised that artists (particularly those new to h.Art) attend for current information and the opportunity to ask questions and meet other artists. If you are an artist looking for a venue for h.Art or a venue seeking artists, refer to the ‘Venue/Artist Call Out’ page of the website. In addition write your Call Out on the ‘h.Art – Herefordshire Art Week’ Facebook wall and use the website and last years guide a sources. h.Art Registration opens on 27th February and closes 30th April (Early Bird Rate ends: 31st March), registration is online. The h.Art Steering Group will once again consider candidates for the Young Artist Bursary; professional artists aged under 30 (on 8th September) who have chosen to live and work in the county and who wish to take part in h.Art. HEREFORD CONTEMPORARY CRAFT FAIR 2012
16th, 17th & 18th NovemberCall for applications: Herefordshire Council invites applications from contemporary designer makers working in traditional and non-traditional media. Selection will be based on the quality of design and technical skill. Now in its nineteenth year, the Craft Fair is a well established event which attracts a high volume of visitors who are keen to buy or commission a unique piece of craft. Apply now for this showcase of the finest contemporary craft from Herefordshire and the UK. A New Exhibitor Award is open to Herefordshire makers who have not previously exhibited at this event - this includes a subsidised stand and extra promotion. A Best Product Award is also made, as voted
