Artery Online was launched in June 2008 by Herefordshire Council's Cultural Services.

Here are some commonly asked questions which may help you use the website:

What happened to the old paper version of Artery?
It's still possible to get a print out of Artery - just go to your local library and look out for the Artery dispenser.  This is a paper version of Artery Online so it won't have the very latest opportunities and will come out once a month.  The online version is updated most working days.

Where does Cultural Services get the information?
Cultural Services receives news and opportunities on a daily basis.  Many are sent to us by other Local Authorities or by arts organisations keen to find suitable artists and to advertise their activities.

I click on an opportunity but get asked for a PIN - what's that?
PIN stands for Personal Identification Number.  All the subscribers to the old Artery have been given a PIN so they can view the news and opportunites online.

Where is my PIN?
Everyone who used to get Artery through the post has been sent a letter with their PIN.

I've forgotten my PIN - help!
Please contact Arts & Culture Information Officer Anna Morgan on 01432 260182 or use the contact form here

I'm new to Artery and haven't got a PIN - how do I get one?
You need to contact Cultural Services - use the Contact form.  We will want to know your address and artform so we can register you on the Artery database

How much does this cost?
Artery is Free to Herefordshire artists.  For people outside the county there is a small annual charge - you need to contact us to make payment arrangements.

The text is too small for me to read - can't you make it bigger?
Look in the top right corner and click on the box with the large L - that should make the website much easier to read.

I can read some pages without even using my PIN - what's going on?
The Home page, About Artery, Help and Contact are all open for everyone to read.  You can also see the list of Artist profiles and, of course, you can see the headings of all the opportunities.

That's it.  All the details of opportunities and the full artist's profiles are hidden behind the PIN.

Do I need my PIN each time I visit?
The website is set to remember you for long periods of time so you shouldn't need to type it in everytime you visit.  From time to time you will have to 'log in' so keep the letter with your PIN safe and to hand.
